Coffee
Uganda’s premium Arabica and Robusta coffee, known for its rich aroma and flavor.
Arabic coffee in Uganda is mainly grown in the cool hilly areas of Mount Elgon in the East, the slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains in the West, and parts of the Kigezi highlands in the South-West. Its high-altitude environment gives it a smooth, aromatic flavor. Robusta coffee, on the other hand, flourishes in the lower altitude valleys and plains of Central Uganda, particularly in districts like Mukono, Luwero, Masaka, and the Lake Victoria basin, producing a bold, full-bodied taste with higher caffeine content.
Trinitario Cocoa Bread is made with premium, certified organic Trinitario cocoa sourced from single origin farms in Bundibugyo, Western Uganda. Carefully processed to maintain quality with a moisture content of 7%, it meets international standards and is produced under HACCP Export License, ensuring both safety and excellence.
In Uganda, farmers grow Tommy Atkins and Kent mangoes naturally without synthetic fertilizers, relying on organic soil practices and traditional farming methods to produce high-quality fruit. Tommy Atkins mangoes are known for their firm texture and long shelf life, making them ideal for export, while Kent mangoes are sweeter, juicier, and less fibrous, offering premium eating quality. By working with local farmers, Dalai Industries can aggregate, grade, and export these sustainably grown mangoes to international markets, adding value, supporting rural livelihoods, and promoting environmentally friendly agriculture.
In Uganda, Takataka (often shortened to “Tak Tak”) and Parvin mango varieties are also widely grown by smallholder farmers using natural, low-input farming methods without synthetic fertilizers. Takataka mangoes are typically smaller, very sweet, and popular in local markets due to their strong flavor and affordability, while Parvin mangoes are medium to large in size, aromatic, and valued for their smooth flesh and balanced sweetness. By sourcing these varieties directly from farmers, Dalai Industries can support sustainable production, improve post-harvest handling, and create opportunities for both local sales and value-added processing such as drying or pulp production for export.
